Mikael Vainio is an EU Advisor at Helsinki EU Office. He is in charge of themes relating to the European Union’s transport and education policies. Furthermore, he has responsibilities in the field of delegation visits, event production and communications. Earlier, he has been working as an assistant for the First Vice President of the European Committee of Regions and as a trainee in  the Permanent Representation of Finland to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. Before his current role, he was working as a Junior Communications Officer at the Helsinki EU Office. Mikael Vainio has a Master’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Jyväskylä in Finland.
