Metropolia University of Applied Sciences (UAS) is Finland’s largest University of Applied Sciences with over 19.000 students and about 1.200 employees. Our campuses are located across the Helsinki capital region. Our research and innovation activities are structured around four innovation hubs: Clean and Sustainable Solutions, Future Proof Health and Wellbeing, Smart and Creative City and Emerging Technologies and Entrepreneurship. Metropolia UAS runs around 100 research and innovation projects each year with strong industry collaboration and a focus on addressing major societal problems with multidisciplinary expertise. Innovation is at the center of teaching and learning at Metropolia, and our students complete over 1,000 innovation projects every year.

Metropolia UAS is the coordinator of the U!REKA European University, an alliance with 120.000 students and 13.000 employees with a mission to accelerate European transition to climate-neutrality and by doing so foster European competitiveness, sustainability, values and identity. The urban and applied science-based profile positions U!REKA and Metropolia UAS as both a regional and European driver of applied research, innovation, and skills development.
